Weymouth is one of the oldest towns in Massachusetts and one of the most varied places we roof: 19th-century homes in Weymouth Landing, tight post-war neighborhoods in East Weymouth and Lovells Corner, waterfront streets facing the Back River and the bay, and the newer construction that’s followed Union Point. Different eras of housing fail in different ways, and after 30-plus years on the South Shore we’ve re-roofed all of them.

The post-war roof problem

A huge share of Weymouth’s houses went up fast in the ’40s and ’50s, and their roofs share a set of traits we plan for: plank decking with gaps that modern shingles need corrected, minimal or blocked soffit ventilation, and eaves that were framed shallow — which is why so many East Weymouth capes grow spectacular ice dams every January. Our replacements fix the causes, not just the shingles: ice and water shield run high past the warm wall line, ventilation actually balanced between ridge and soffit, and decking repaired or overlaid so the new roof lies flat and holds its fasteners.

Repairs, replacements, and being realistic

We do plenty of straight repairs in Weymouth — chimney flashing, pipe boots, wind-lifted tabs after a storm. When you call, you’ll get an honest read: if a $600 repair buys your roof five more years, we’ll say so; if the shingles are at end-of-life and a repair is throwing money at a dying roof, we’ll show you photos of why. New roofs carry our 50-year material and 15-year workmanship warranties, and estimates are free either way.

Close to home: Weymouth is a quick run up Route 3 or 53 from our Pembroke shop, so estimates and emergency tarp calls happen fast. Permits go through Weymouth’s Inspectional Services — pulled by us on every job.
